For the first time in almost 15 years Rodeo Networks is getting a new Website! But before we tell you about the new website… we want to tell you about the OLD website. Designed in 2010, the old website was actually very groundbreaking for it’s time. Our web developer at the time however was very forward thinking and chose structure and format that NO ONE was doing at the time.

He thought that the old way of doing website was too cumbersome for people who were beginning to use their mobile phones for looking up things on the internet was the way everything was going to go! And he was right. So he designed one of the first website anywhere (and especially in the LC Valley) that used the “Scroll down” method to find information. Up until that time, Websites were single pages where there was a menu down the side or across the top that directed people to sub-pages, and more sub-pages, and more sub-pages. His design (which was unused at the time, but is the standard now) was to put everything on one page and just scroll down. Rodeo was one of the first companies in the US to implement this design strategy.

The next thing was the color palette and negative space. Our web developer decided to use some interesting color combinations. Since Rodeo’s primary color is “Texas Longhorn Burnt Orange”, he decided to pair that with a kind of a turquoise color that you see as our background. At that time, most websites were packing in so much information, that it was fatiguing to read or try to get information. His thought was to limit the chunks of information to simpler pieces, and use lots of negative space. Very different for the time. Along with the softer colors, more artistic fonts, negative space, the website became talked about in the design industry…

Now all websites across the board use themes along the same lines as our original one. Tip ‘o the cap to our web designer… a forward thinker and an artist of note.

NOW

On to the new website. You will find the information about Rodeo cleaner and easier to find. We now have maps of coverage as we expand our service offering.
